It's nice to be busy

My first evening with The Darkness was enlightening. Acting mainly as an introduction to the team, I was drafted in to help clear the workshop up. The guys seem remarkably laid back, yet focussed where it counts.

After the sweeping and tidying up came my first opportunity to get my hands dirty. As the Flickr feed attests to, I helped finish off a plaster cast armature. This is an oversized head model which can then be sculpted on to create a mold for Halloween masks. These are usually larger than they need to be to compensate for shrinkage during the molding process. If there's an opportunity, I wouldn't mind sculpting a mold myself!

In the next few days, I'll be helping out with rehearsals and the shooting of a short movie called 'Jesus of Nacogdoches'. After that I'm hopefully getting to help with the editing and music scoring of another movie. There are also rumours of a bit-part as a zombie, with make-up and everything.

At least I think there'll be make-up.
